Tent Lighting...where to begin?!

With lighting a tent, there are many options. Here are some to start your tent lit to your dreams!
Chandeliers add not only light but style! The soft light they give off adds an element of romance.

Another popular option in a tent is onion lights. They are very modern and nautical. They look great in sail cloth tents!

Traditional uplighting can be beautiful as well. I always recommend pairing it with perimeter lighting, it give it a softer feel.  These can lights can be put on a dimmer so that once the dancing begins, the lights can go down!
All three are great options to create a great atmosphere for your event. No matter what lights you choose, don't forget you need power!

Upcoming Colors We Are Seeing!

We get asked often, how do we know what the new wedding trends are for the upcoming season?

Pantone Spring 2014

Anne and I must do hours of reading daily, especially on the Internet and in magazines. I personally am mostly inspired by David Tutera, Colin Cowie, and Jung Lee. We are constantly trying to find new color combinations, amazing tablescapes, and to find what the trends will be for the upcoming season. This year, we have 6 of our department heads, including Anne and myself, attending the ARA “Rental Show” in Orlando. Hundreds of vendors predict the hottest sellers. It is a great show for buying tents, tables & chairs, linens, dishes and glasses. Using the brides we are already planning for this year, we have seen a mix of color combinations, both new and old, for this year.

I am seeing brides mostly into the blush and gold combination. With this, the gold flatware, ballrooms, and chargers have been booked already. This beautiful photo was an event from our friends at Exquisite Events http://www.exquisiteeventsofnewport.com/.
Another popular combination has been a light gray and white paired with pastels. A good amount of pastels also paired with a plain ivory have been booked.

Newport and beach weddings are still mostly a nautical theme of navy and white, but some are throwing in a vibrant lemon, lime or citrus which is a nice twist on it.

Vintage floral patterns and paisley seem to be some of the things we are researching more for brides.
I like to ask not only our brides but our planners and caterers for their input to. I will be hunting for any material that has a perfect blush, blending of champagne and pink. I am also looking into some gold glass chargers, seeing as brides are requesting them more and more.

I can honestly say pinterest is, in my opinion, the best site for brides that are looking for ideas. We started pinning not only our weddings, but a look book of ideas from other "pinners" that are amazing!

I guess you will have to stay tuned to see what amazing things we post from the “Rental Show”. We will try to keep you updated as much as possible!
